I heard that Wanchun Mazu Temple was destroyed and rebuilt many times.
Yes, but there are still some antiques from the Qing Dynasty. Let's go find them.
Sure. How do we know if it's a Qing Dynasty antique?
Good question. Aha! Look at the stele.
It says Daoguang (道光). Isn't Daoguang one of the emperors of the Qing dynasty?
Yes, he is. I have an idea. We can look for the emperor names and see if it's an antique.
Great. Let's go!
出發!
- Antiques 文物
- Qing Dynasty
Look. The stone lions are wearing rain hats. That's cute.
But why are they wearing rain hats?
Well! Take a guess.
They want to turn the lions into mascots?
No! Try again.
To get away from the sun?
No. Look carefully. Where do they place the lions?
They are in the atrium and outside under the eaves.
You're right! What happens if it rains?
Rain will fall directly on the stone lions. No way, they are important antiques.
People put hats on the stone lions so they stay dry.
That's really creative. Now this becomes one of the temple's features.
How about you? What fun things do you do to keep antiques safe?
- turn…into 把……變成
- mascot 吉祥物
- weather 天氣
- place 放置
