在南屯文昌公廟，常可見到考生獻上的特殊供品，包括包子、糕點（高）、肉粽（中）、青蔥（聰）、芹菜（勤）、菜頭（彩頭）、桂花葉（貴人）、桔子（吉祥）等，它們的選擇基於諧音的祝福含義。
此外，考生也會攜帶乖乖、狀元餅等特殊點心，但最重要的是將影印的准考證擺放在祭品之上，祈求文昌帝君庇佑，順利通過考試。有考生甚至會將考試用的筆或礦泉水一同放在祭品桌上，相信經過神明祝福的水或筆能夠提升他們的考運。
