我們的文青之旅第二站來到具有獨特風韻的筱雲山莊，筱雲山莊建於同治五年(1866年），莊主呂炳南為侍奉母親與日漸增多的眷口而斥資建造。呂炳南共有三個兒子，皆中秀才，舉人吳子光稱許為「海東三鳳」。而在日治時期，筱雲山莊又出了二位詩人呂厚庵與呂蘊白，鼓吹詩教，發揚歷史文化不遺餘力。
清代創建期的筱雲山莊是坐北朝南的四合院，門廳及門樓有防禦用的鎗孔，門樓皆有交趾陶、泥塑、磚雕、剪黏及彩繪等裝飾，除了清代建築本體之外，周邊也有日治時期的建築，並且還保留初建時期的風貌，建構出書香風韻的人文世界。
筱雲山莊另一項建築特色是有豐富的水路系統及完整的防禦設施，即使跨越了清代、日治與民國三個時期，仍巧妙的結合不同的文化風格與特色，非常具有歷史文化的價值，可說是臺灣民宅發展的縮影，非常值得一遊。

Oh~I know! This is the oldest historic site in Shengang Dist. It was constructed in 1866, and it went through Qing dynasty and the period of Taiwan under Japanese rule.
喔∼我知道！這是在神岡區歷史最悠久的古蹟。它建於西元1866年，歷經了清朝與日治時期。

This architecture was decorated with Koji Pottery, clay sculpture, stone sculpture, the fragmented art and painting. It's really amazing.

I found the bricks with Chinese character ” Lu ” are so unique. Besides, there are still people living here, it's cool!
我覺得最特別的是標『呂』磚瓦，真的很有獨特的代表性。另外，這裡目前還有人居住，實在是太酷了！
So the main hall area is currently open for guided tours by reservation only on alternate Sundays each month. Don't forget to apply to the Cultural Heritage Department of Taichung City for the visit permit.
